Hit Record is a recording program designed for musicians. It combines 3 tools: a recording program, a song library and a distraction free writer.
Features
- Full screen distraction free concept. Get rid of the mess and forget about surfing the web. It's time to record some music.
- Got that great tune in your head? No matter what you're working on, you're always just one step from recording that great new idea.
- Record freely. Want to just sit down and jam out a few ideas? Start recording and keep the flow going. You can easily go back afterwards and select portions of a recording and move them to their own project or add to existing projects as a new version.
- Multitrack recording. Use your favourite Audio Units or VSTs. Arrange and edit clips. All the basic stuff you'd expect.
- Song library. Organize your recordings into albums, group multiple versions of a song together. Easily listen through old ideas. Want to try a new version of that song? Simply create a new take and record away. That old project that would have been collecting dust hidden in some old folder on your computer, is now at the forefront of your artistic vision. All your ideas are at your fingertips.
- Dedicated distraction free lyrics screen. It's just you and your thoughts.
Alpha Release
This is an early release of the software. It's intended for people to try out and provide feedback. The basic functions work decently, but everywhere needs improvement. It's highly recommended that you back up your recordings in case something goes wrong. The alpha is currently available for the Mac (Snow Leopard) and a Windows version will be available shortly.
Price
During the alpha stage the program will be available free of charge. There will soon be an option to buy it at a discounted price to help support continued development through to the final release. Those who purchase early will receive all updates up to and including the final version. The final pricing is intended to be modest with the goal of keeping it affordable for musicians.
